music producer - [myoo-zik pruh-doo-ser] a nebulous term for the wearer of a wide variety of hats in the recording studio world.

sometimes we sit down at my childhood upright piano and work out an arrangement. sometimes we hit the drum machines and grimy synths and shape a soundscape. sometimes we grab a couple guitars and riff ideas back and forth. sometimes i play the drums and we figure out the feel of the pre-chorus together. sometimes we call in some friends to lay down horns, or strings, or a rap verse.

whatever you need, my favorite thing in the world is helping to bring a song to life - to take something intangible and help turn it into a real thing. to follow the feeling and know when to get out of the way, or when to speak up. to approach things simultaneously with a sense of reverence and distance to allow the core idea to shine through. or sometimes, to completely tear the whole thing down to the studs and rebuild it from scratch. i’ve been lucky enough to work on hundreds of songs over the years, and every one is a new and exciting experience. let’s work together to bring your ideas to reality!
